Position Summary
The Program Supervisor at Keziah Childcare Centre provides leadership and day-to-day oversight to ensure high-quality, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate early learning and childcare. This role supports staff performance and growth, oversees key operational requirements, and ensures ongoing compliance with licensing standards and applicable legislation, including the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA).
Reports to: Centre Director / School Manager
Work Location: In person (Hamilton, ON L8N 1G4)
Key Responsibilities
Program & Operations
- Plan and supervise the implementation of required programs and related operational components
- Develop program objectives, activities, outcomes, and indicators
- Coordinate activities required for licensing compliance and annual licence renewal under the CCEYA
- Review and approve child-related files, reports, and documentation as required
- Use appropriate assessment knowledge to support children’s development needs
- Design, review, and evaluate the framework for children’s programs
Policy, Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Review and recommend updates to policies and procedures to strengthen quality of service
- Review and update the Parent Handbook as needed
- Ensure centre practices align with health and safety legislation and all applicable regulations
- Support centre-wide consistency in safety, supervision, and operational standards
Staff Leadership & Team Development
- Support onboarding/orientation for new staff, students, and volunteers
- Facilitate staff meetings and support training initiatives as needed
- Maintain records and contribute to evaluation/supervision of staff, students, volunteers, and programs
- Build collaborative working relationships with families and professionals from related fields
Environment & Professional Collaboration
- Support overall cleanliness and maintenance of the centre
- Complete other duties as assigned that relate to the role
Required Qualifications
– ECE Diploma/Degree (or related education/experience in child development and family studies)
– Minimum 2 years of experience providing licensed child care
– RECE in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
– Demonstrated supervisory/leadership experience
– Strong knowledge of applicable standards, Acts, regulations, and professional practice requirements
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Strong administrative and budgeting skills
– Comfortable using computer software and digital documentation systems
– Current First Aid & CPR-C and Food Handler Certification
– Ability to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to start

Program Planning & Learning Environment
- Plan and implement play-based learning experiences indoors and outdoors, guided by Ontario’s early years framework.
- Create inviting learning spaces and activities based on children’s interests and strengths.
- Support children’s growth across developmental areas, including social and emotional well-being.
- Contribute to individualized supports for children with additional needs, in partnership with families and the team.
Observation & Documentation
- Observe children’s development and use what you see to guide planning and support progress.
- Create and post meaningful pedagogical documentation that reflects children’s learning.
Health, Safety & Professional Responsibilities
- Follow all centre procedures and regulatory expectations to keep children safe and well.
- Recognize and document health concerns and follow required duty-to-report processes when needed.
- Participate in professional learning and reflective practice.
Family & Team Collaboration
- Communicate respectfully and consistently with parents/guardians and support family engagement.
- Help connect families to community resources when appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and volunteers to support smooth daily operations.
Required Qualifications
- Early Childhood Education Diploma (or equivalent) and strong knowledge of child development.
- RECE in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
- Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and related regulations.
- Strong daily communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
- Experience supporting diverse, inclusive learning environments.
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C.

Position Summary
Keziah Childcare Centre is seeking an Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) to support nurturing, safe, and engaging early learning environments in our licensed child care program. Working alongside our RECEs and leadership team, you will help deliver play-based experiences, support daily routines, and maintain a clean and welcoming classroom while following the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and centre policies.

Key Responsibilities
Classroom & Program Support
- Support daily activities by preparing materials, setting up learning areas, and assisting with planned and child-led experiences.
- Supervise children during play, transitions, and routines, using active supervision practices.
- Encourage creativity and learning through play (e.g., art, music, dramatic play, building, movement).
- Work collaboratively with RECEs to support children’s emotional, social, and behavioural well-being.
Health, Safety & Well-Being
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and healthy environment for children.
- Support toileting/diapering and washroom routines respectfully and safely.
- Participate in daily room checks, report hazards or concerns, and follow emergency procedures and centre safety practices.
- Support outdoor play daily and help children dress appropriately for weather conditions.
Family Communication & Team Collaboration
- Provide day-to-day feedback to families regarding children’s well-being, as directed by the classroom team.
- Work as part of a collaborative team, supporting the classroom educator(s) and overall centre operations.
- Always maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an ECA/ECEA certificate (or related training/experience).
- Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a positive, professional approach with children and families.
- Current First Aid & CPR (Level C) (required).
- Vulnerable Sector Check (must be obtained prior to start).
- Experience in a licensed childcare setting and/or school placement is an asset.
Working Conditions
- Classroom-based role with active physical requirements (lifting up to ~45 lbs, bending, sitting on the floor, etc.).

Position Summary
Keziah Childcare Centre is seeking a Daycare Kitchen Assistant (Catered Food Services) to support daily food service operations and maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. This position does not involve cooking. The Kitchen Assistant receives catered meals from an external provider, supports safe storage and handling, portions and distributes meals/snacks to classrooms, and completes daily cleaning and sanitizing tasks. This role may also provide light operational support to the centre as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Food Receiving & Safe Handling
- Receive daily food deliveries from the catering provider and confirm accuracy (items, quantities, and any substitutions).
- Store food safely according to public health and food safety standards.
- Monitor and record food temperatures as required and ensure safe handling practices are followed.
- Follow allergy and dietary restriction lists carefully to ensure correct distribution and prevent cross-contamination.
Meal & Snack Distribution
- Portion and distribute catered meals and snacks to classrooms according to the daily schedule.
- Communicate with educators regarding meal timing, substitutions, allergy-aware practices, and special dietary needs.
Kitchen Cleanliness & Sanitation
- Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, sinks, carts, and food service areas daily.
- Wash dishes, utensils, containers, and transport equipment after each service.
- Maintain kitchen standards in alignment with centre policies and local public health requirements.
- Dispose of waste properly and support recycling/composting procedures where applicable.
Centre Support
- Provide general support as needed, including light assistance during meal transitions and clean-up times.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development as required.
Required Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma (or equivalent).
- Food Handler / Safe Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector (required prior to start).
- Physically able to lift/carry light trays and push a food cart; able to stand and move throughout the shift.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to consistently follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
Assets
- Experience in childcare, school, catering, or institutional kitchen settings.
- Current First Aid & CPR certification.
- Familiarity with childcare licensing expectations and/or public health guidelines.
